Sirtain Opinion x Diamonds Ladyebony
It is with unimaginable
sadness that we announce the loss of this great mare. She was the ONE
that started it all. She drug us down the road to halter horses and then
we willingly jumped once we saw how much fun it was. It only took us ten
years and numerous prospects after her to realize that she was a true SHOW
DIVA, and she made it fun. She loved the ring and lived to be there. She would
put her ears up for anyone if there was an audience. She was a beauty,
who carried a lot of muscle, but still looked feminine.
When she was retired she
would run after the trailer whinnying that we had forgotten to put her in,
especially if she saw the show halters get loaded. She entertained all
that came to visit, drinking out of pepsi cups, or wine glasses, or beer cans,
or whatever you had in your hands. She loved her peppermints and apples,
and didn't care that you had to stand there and hold it for her to eat the
tiniest bite she could take and then slobber it all over you. She would
stick her tongue out at you if you DARED feed her anytime other than
first. When it was time to carry a saddle she looked at it like it was
a new piece of jewelry and strutted her stuff all over again. When
she had her beloved baby she wanted everyone to see, but no one to touch.
She was a true character, and a true champion. She will never be
replaced, and never forgotten. She will always be in our thoughts, and
always in our hearts......

Unfortunately we lost Rocky to colic at a young age. He had his ROM in
halter and was beginning a stellar career when his life was cut short. He is the
sire of our mare Shesa Sirtain Star (that we dearly love) who is in foal with
her first baby for 2007.
