O'Hara Stock Farm is a work in progress, but it began long ago with my childhood passion for pretty ponies. While growing up in Alaska, I perused every horse magazine I could get my hands on, and spent every moment visiting my grandparents in Oregon trying to get them to take me to the barn. Once I got there I rode anything (and everything) I could. Many bumps and bruises
later I became an accomplished hunter/jumper competitor. All the while my family mused, "She'll grow out of it." While waiting for that to happen I kept riding and reading every bit of information I could find about horses. The beauty and unique colors of paint horses mesmerized me, and I began receiving the Paint Horse Journal. It was my monthly fix, and made me a pedigree guru. I got a job and bought my first quarter horse at 14, even though she lived in Oregon I
finally had one of my own! We still have her, she is the enforcer in the broodmare field!
I moved to Oregon and began showing and collecting as many horses as I could afford. I got jobs at horse farms doing anything that allowed me to learn more about them. I worked at a breeding farm as Broodmare Manager for 4 years and learned that I really loved that aspect of this business. When I met Patrick he offered so much support in this endeavor I knew he was the one for me! He even claims a few now
and has his own passion for his job as a Farrier.
Let's just say my family was wrong and we are still in the horse business. We have had many trials and tribulations, but we are on a path now that has lead to so many triumphs we would like to share them with you.
